can get busy but it is a cute little spot for a brunch date! my boyfriend and i were celebrating our anniversary and we received a candle along with our order pancakes! had a little problem with a receipt in my food but it got sorted out with a free hash brown and a remake of the order. overall decent experience!

I had an amazing brunch experience at Flippers in downtown Toronto! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. We ordered Chicken & Waffles, BLT Sandwiches, French Fries and Chocolate Pancakes. For the drinks we ordered Salted Caramel Latte and Matcha Latte Everything was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The chocolate pancakes were rich, fluffy, and easily the best I’ve had. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a delicious and memorable brunch in the city

Had a good time with the guys for a 1pm brunch date. Even without reservations they were able to accommodate a table for 6. The food was great, I had the Basil chicken sandwich and it did not disappoint. Only complaint was that the water glasses are far to small for how often the server came around with refills definitely could have used a bigger glass.

Loved the Tokyo-style souffle pancakes here – incredibly fluffy and soft, with a rich egg flavor. They literally melt in your mouth! The Fresh Fruit option added a nice sweet-and-tart contrast, and looks amazing in photos. Also tried the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon – perfectly balanced, flavorful, and filling. We shared a Lychee Rose Tea – light, floral, and served in the cutest yellow teacups. Service was efficient, though it felt a bit rushed – definitely more of a dine-and-go vibe than a spot to linger and chat. Prices are fair ($25–30/person), and the cozy Elm Street location is great for a post-brunch walk. Will definitely be back!

I visited Flipper’s Toronto for brunch with my sister. The service was warm and friendly, which we really appreciated. However, the food took quite a long time to arrive, so I’d recommend this place only if you’re not in a hurry. We ordered drinks, but they took a while to come out, and unfortunately, the taste didn’t quite meet our expectations. That said, the food — especially the pancakes — was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! If you’re a fan of fluffy Japanese-style pancakes, this place is definitely worth a try. Overall, it’s a nice spot for a relaxed brunch if you have time to spare.

I had been carb-free for six weeks, but once I heard of Flippers’ Japanese Soufflé Pancakes, I was ready for a cheat meal. I was not disappointed. It was like eating tasty pillowy clouds. Each one truly is a soufflé and are much lighter than they look. Excellent staff give the background and explain various options. The chef even took a pic of some on the griddle for me. They also have plenty of traditional brunch options. I will happily visit again.

Food was overall tasty but the souffle pancakes definitely take the award! Must try the pancakes if you visit. Very fluffy, and the toppings they put on top (ie. the creams and syrup etc) pairs perfectly. Seating was decently comfy although the tables are a bit close together. Food was served decently quickly and servers were kind. You may need to prompt for some water refills.

Best souffle pancake in downtown. FOOD: • Flipper Pancake: so fluffy so airy and melt in my mouth. The cream is not too sweet, although it doesn't have such strong maple flavor like I expected, I would definitely get it again. • Matcha pancake: it needs more cream because the matcha cream is just so so good, goes very well with red bean paste • Chicken Waffle: the chicken is crispy, moist in side and tender. There's very good portion of chicken and waffle on this plate. Waffle is also cooked to perfection. This dish is much better than so many other restaurants. SERVICE: they always apologize for delay although we all know souffle pancake takes long time to cook. Servers are all very polite and friendly. VIBE: always crowded no matter what time. The decoration is fun and lively.
